Backstory

Born during the Celestial Veil, a rare alignment of constellations — Beast, Moon, and Silence — Maia carries the dormant harmony of worlds within her. Her mother, Lyria, was a Sylvan Oracle who communed with Artemis through the wild; her father, Kiros, a Beast-Kin Guardian sworn to protect sacred groves. When a shapeshifting god attacked their shrine, Lyria bound her spirit into an owl to protect her daughter, leaving Maia an orphan with an invisible guardian. Raised in the outskirts of Myriessa, Maia grew up an outcast — whispered about by villagers who sensed her difference. She spoke to animals, saw signs in their movements, and felt emotions that weren’t her own. When she rescues a wounded stranger from the forest — a boy hunted by divine forces — the peace she clings to begins to unravel.
